Build Games Your Way: Sustainable funding for indie developers who want creative freedom
Let's Hear About You!
Tell us about your project and what you're building. We're actively looking for developers who share our vision of a better games industry.

The Fair Play Collective is a new way of getting games made. We pair a community that wants to support small studios with teams that are making cool games and provide predictable, sustainable funding for those teams.
Together, we're building a better games industry with no crunch, no layoffs, and creative freedom for the teams making the games.
What You Get as a Developer
- Stable multi-year funding so you can make the games you want to make, without crunching or cutting corners
- Livable wages, with transparency and predictability
- Creative freedom, with less pressure to demo to execs or launch early access before it's ready
- Monthly funding rather than all at once, with accountability through progress reports
- Mentorship from industry veterans
- Career guidance for juniors starting out in the games industry
- Workshops on navigating contracts, intellectual property rights, and spotting investor red flags
- A network that is committed to and celebrates creative integrity
How It Works
Studios Apply for Funding: Put together a plan for the creative direction and production of your game, including timelines, staffing, and salaries. Agree to the no-layoff / no-crunch pledge. Plans are reviewed by a developer-led board.
Selected Studios Receive Monthly Support: Studios that are selected can receive up to 24 months of funding. Studios need to maintain accountability with monthly progress reports.
Games Are Released When They're Ready: You decide the timelines that work for you, without the pressure of external deadlines or early access releases (unless you want to!).
What We Require
- Transparent budgets and studio roadmaps
- Equal pay for equal work
- No layoffs during the funding period
- No forced/coerced crunch
- Monthly progress reports
You're not forced to release demos or early builds. You can if you want to! But this isn't the right move for every game or studio. Share what you want, when you want.
