Community-funded. Creator-owned. No crunch.
An experiment in backer-funded, indie developer mutual aid.
You've all heard the stories of mass layoffs at your favorite studios - both when a project is going poorly, AND when it goes incredibly well. The crunch at the end of every project. Uprooting your family every few years to chase the next job. Colleagues who burn out and go to write dental software instead.
> Monthly Backers Fund the Pool > Studios Apply for Funding > These are reviewed by a developer-led board > Selected Studios Receive Monthly Support > Teams can decide the timelines that work for them. > Backers Get Benefits
We're not a publisher, or a crowdfunder. We want to build a mutual aid system for indie developers - funded by people who are excited to try new things and find those hidden gem games.
Four steps. One flat price. A healthier industry.
Every member contributes $5/mo. No tiers. No advantages for spending more. Everyone gets everything.
Studios put together a plan for the creative direction and production of their game, including timelines, staffing, and salaries. They must also agree to the no-layoff / no-crunch pledge. These are reviewed by a developer-led board.
Studios that are selected can receive up to 24 months of funding. Studios need to maintain accountability with monthly progress reports.
Teams can decide the timelines that work for them, without the pressure of external deadlines or early access releases (unless they want to!).
One flat price. Full access. Everyone gets everything.
We deliberately chose not to build tiers. Paying more shouldn't buy you a better experience or more access. Remember, this is a collective. Everyone's contribution matters equally.
These are example studios, the kinds of projects FPC exists to support. Actual studio profiles will be built out at launch.
We make small, strange games for people who read the item descriptions.
Turn-based tactics for people who want to feel something.
Space is quiet. That's the point.
These studios are illustrative examples only. Real studio applications open at launch; if you're a developer, .
You should know exactly where every dollar goes. This updates every month, without exception.
Stay consistent and your profile earns it. Achievements are earned, and every backer starts equal.
The newsletter is intermittent at the moment, but about once a month we update with progress, studio highlights, team member info, and general updates.
Learn what FPC offers your studio, what we expect, and tell us about your project.
See how $5/mo creates real stability for the studios making the games you care about.
Together, we can build a better games industry. One built on trust and respect while working towards transparency, mutual support, and true creative freedom: what we hold should be the standard, instead of the ideal.
Payments processed securely via Stripe. FPC is pre-launch — no games are currently being funded. All contributions go toward operational costs (hosting, legal, tooling). Full financial transparency is published monthly above.
